Looking back on my softball days, I can say that they have been the best days of my life, and I will be eternally grateful that I can continue to play this sport. Everything fades away when I step onto the softball field. The problems of the outside world no longer seem so overwhelming. Softball is one of my most cherished passions in life. It teaches me lessons that I can apply in real life and provides me with friendships that will last a lifetime.
I play softball at Immaculate Conception, and Coach Sarah, Coach Andee, and Coach Rob has taught me, and has showed me what it means to play in high-pressure game situations, which will prepare me to play at the next level in college. The three coaches do a lot for our team at Immaculate and I am grateful to have them on our coaching staff. In addition, my club team, NJ Fire, and my coaches, Priscilla and Gabby, have taught me how to be a leader, particularly in my position as a shortstop. They have helped me understand that it is okay to make mistakes and that the next play will come. NJ Elite Lady Pirates is another team that has had an impact on my life. This travel team is based in Paterson, and the coaching staff, which includes Coach Mike, Coach Tito, Coach Mo, and Coach Crystal, never ceases to amaze me. We had a lot of fun playing in the fall and were on the verge of winning our championship game. They bring me a lot of joy, and I consider myself fortunate to be a part of this organization. Aside from my teams, I have private instruction to help me improve my softball skills. Coach Nicole, my hitting instructor, has helped me improve in a variety of ways. She began working with me almost a year ago and has helped me get out of slumps and see the ball. Without her, I don't know where my hitting would be! Coach Delanie Cruz, in addition to Coach Nicole, is one of the best coaches I've ever worked with. She is like my older sister, and I will be eternally grateful for her presence in my life. I saw her play in college and then watch her become a college coach. Though she doesn't coach me in anymore, I will always support her like she has supported me in the past. Softball is something that I won't have for the rest of my life. However, while I am still playing it's something I choose not to take advantage of. I play every game like it's my last, and do my best to stay humble, and a respectful player. With that being said, I can't wait to see my future with this sport.

Running is a widely practiced form of exercise. It is also thought to be the best form of exercise available. Every morning, I make every effort to get to work and run on my treadmill. Personally, I find it to be a great stress reliever when I am worried about an upcoming test, etc. As an athlete, I also consider that it improves my endurance and speed when running. Aside from that, there are numerous ways that running can benefit your health. For starters, you may have a lower risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Running for at least 10 minutes per day can significantly lower your risk of cardiovascular disease. Runners cut their risk of dying from heart disease in half. It also reduces your resting heart rate, which is the number of times your heart beats per minute while you are at rest. This is an important indicator of your overall fitness and health. The slower your heartbeat, the more efficient it is. With that being said, always remember that when you're running you must stay hydrated!
